(a blend of 65% merlot, 27% cabernet sauvignon and 8% petit verdot; 14.9% alcohol) Highly perfumed aromas and flavors of red berries, tobacco and dried flowers. Supple, juicy and sweet, with a round texture and good spicy lift to the middle palate. Finishes with ripe tannins and excellent length.

(15.6% alcohol; just racked and sulfited) Full ruby-red. Smoky black fruits and black pepper on the nose; this is a Bordeaux blend based on merlot but I would have guessed it had a sizable syrah component. Pure, creamy flavors of black cherry and fruity pepper show terrific intensity and sap. Perhaps best today on the long, aromatic finish. This has a terrific core of fruit and lovely inner-mouth energy.
