Score 92/100 · Drink 2020-2025, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Apr 2020

The 2010 Pinot Noir Basalt Block has a medium ruby color and is just beginning to segue to tertiary character. Scented of rhubarb, cranberry, pomegranate, citrus peel, crushed stone, saline and old leather, the medium-bodied palate is intense, finely grained and super juicy, finishing long and nuanced. This is just coming into its drinking window but can certainly be held in bottle a bit longer.

Ruby-red. Cherry and dark berry preserve aromas are complemented by notes of cola and candied flowers. Plush and open-knit, offering sweet blackberry and cherry-cola flavors and showing a pliant, velvety texture. Closes smooth, sappy and long, with soft tannins and a late jolt of sour cherry, which adds refreshing bite and cut. These vines lie within the McMinnville AVA.
