Score 86/100 · Drink 2005-2008, Robert Parker, Feb 2005

The 2002 Alec’s Proprietary Red offers up notes of smoke, graphite, roasted meats, and black fruits. The attractive aromas are somewhat deceptive as they suggest a greater degree of pleasure than what actually occurs on the palate. Medium-bodied, with dry, raspy tannin, and an austere finish, this 2002 can be drunk between now and 2008. Tel. (707) 255-3400; Fax (707) 255-3402
