His blend of 66% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, the 2013 La Carte et Le Territoire Young-Inglenook Vineyard shows a sensational nose of forest floor, white flowers, blueberry and blackcurrant fruit. Its terrific opulence, beautifully sweet tannin and supple, broad, multidimensional mouthfeel make for a thrilling wine to drink over the next 12-15 years.

The 2012 La Carte et Le Territoire, Pott's Left Bank-inspired Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend. Texturally seamless and silky, the 2012 wraps around the palate with sumptuous fruit and fabulous depth. Hints of mocha, espresso and grilled herbs flesh out, but it is the wine's overall balance and the expressiveness of the Franc that really stands out. This is a striking wine from Aaron Pott.

Deep red-ruby. Aromatic nose offers scents of blueberry, licorice, cedar and shoe polish lifted by violet and pepper notes. Sweet, lush and fine-grained, but with excellent spicy, floral lift to the dark fruit flavors. Very powerful cabernet franc here! Finishes with big but well-coated tannins.
