A firm and juicy wine with redwood, orange peel, sweet tobacco and currants. Mineral character. Full-bodied, round and soft. Very drinkable now. Delicious.

Spring Mountain’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec) is one of the better efforts I have tasted from them over recent vintages. It offers sweet raspberry and black currant fruit intertwined with a hint of flowers, medium body and excellent balance and length. It should drink well for a decade or more. Tel. (707) 967-4188
