The 2017 Grenache Rossi Ranch is co-fermented with 16% Mourvèdre and made using 30% whole cluster. It has a medium ruby color and nose of cocoa, peppered meats, red cherry, raspberry jam, warm earth, dried herbs and loads of exotic spice and floral perfume. The palate is medium-bodied, silky, savory and perfumed with a firm frame and good freshness on the long finish. 212 cases produced.

Moving to the reds, the 2017 Grenache Rossi Ranch (there’s 16% Mourvèdre in the blend) has a Pinot Noir-like character in its perfumed red fruits, spice, sandalwood, and peppery aromas and flavors Fermented whole berry, with some stems, aged 16 months in neutral barrels, this medium-bodied, pretty and exceedingly elegant Grenache will keep for 7-8 years.
The 2017 Grenache Rossi Ranch is pretty, floral and nicely lifted, with lovely varietal character. Crushed red berries, flower and spice all lift from the glass in this very expressive, inviting Grenache from Carlisle. A touch (16%) of Mourvèdre adds an extra dimension of texture.
