Score 92/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2020

Based on 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest PetiteSirah, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot (there’s a splash of Lagrein), the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has outstanding notes of spice, cedarwood, chocolate, and tobacco as well as a beautiful core of darker fruits. With full-bodied richness, ripe tannins, and notable balance, it’s an impressive 2017 readers can drink today or cellar for 15+ years if they’d like. It’s also a terrific value.

Score 94/100 · Drink 2020-2038, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2019

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is made up of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petite Sirah, 3% Malbec, 1.5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Lagrein, aged in 60% new French oak for 22 months. Deep garnet-purple in color, it springs from the glass with pronounced black currant cordial, plum preserves and blueberry pie scents plus touches of dusty soil, stewed tea, tobacco and wild sage. Full-bodied, the generous black fruit preserves are framed by ripe, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with an herbal lift. 300 cases produced.
