Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2004-2009, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2001

The dark ruby-colored 1999 Pommard Pezerolles has appealing raspberry, cherry, spice, and sweetened tea aromas. This chewy-textured, medium-bodied wine has excellent depth of fruit to its velvety, cherry and blackberry-filled character. It will require some cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2009. A Becky Wasserman Selection / Le Serbet; French Fax: 011-33-3-80-24-29-70, various American importers.

Deep, bright ruby-red. Penetrating, spicy aromas of cherry and blueberry. Juicy, supple and aromatic in the mouth but tightly wound and not currently showing the density of the Volnay premier crus. Finishes with a late hint of leather.
