Loads of Bing cherries, ripe strawberries, flowery incense, and sandalwood notes emerge from the 2018 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard, another pure, rich, almost full-bodied Pinot Noir in the lineup. It certainly has Russian River Valley levels of fruit, yet there's not much cola character, and it has an incredibly floral, pure, vibrant style.

The Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard, made from a blend of heritage clones, is once again superb in 2018. The vines planted in 1975 yield a Pinot endowed with tremendous aromatic presence and sheer pedigree. Bright red-toned fruit, cinnamon and sweet floral notes linger on the persistent finish. The Arrendell Pinot is arguably Hartford's flagship wine. The 2018 is a fine edition.
The 2018 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 44% new. Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, it needs coaxing to reveal notes of crushed stones, tilled earth, fallen leaves and unsmoked cigars with a core of Bing cherries, raspberries and red currants, plus a waft of dried Provence herbs. Medium-bodied, elegant and with fantastic finesse, the palate is silky and refreshing, finishing long and earthy. 220 cases were made.
