Very deep garnet-black colored, the 2007 Janzen Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon offers wonderfully expressive Chinese five spice, sandalwood, cardamom, eucalyptus and cinnamon toast notes over a core of preserved plums, creme de cassis and dried mulberries. Very big, concentrated and full-bodied in the mouth, this stunning pedal-to-the-metal effort has beautifully plush tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with persistent exotic spices notes.

Not surprisingly, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon has an opaque purple color and a glorious nose of graphite, camphor, creme de cassis, fruitcake, and some subtle new oak. It is full-bodied, moderately tannic, but very rich, concentrated, and another convincing example from this terroir in Oakville.
