Score 92/100 · Drink 2020-2026, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Oct 2020

The 2017 Verve is a blend of 83% Grenache, 12% Syrah and 5% Roussanne. It has a medium ruby color and a nose reminiscent of Zinfandel, with mixed berry preserves and apricots with accents of dried plums and fruitcake. The medium-bodied palate is more restrained than the nose leads you to believe, silky and fresh with a pleasantly rustic finish. 125 cases were made.

Leading off the reds, the 2017 Verve is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Roussanne and sports a more plum color as well as gamey, stemmy notes of mulled red and black fruits, ground pepper, beef blood, and forest floor. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, balanced, and is going to keep for a solid decade.

The 2017 Verve is Grenache and Syrah with a kick of Roussanne. Blood orange, raspberry, crushed flowers, mint and cinnamon all flesh out in the glass. I would prefer to cellar the 2017 for at least a year or two, as the tannins need time to soften.
