Coming all from a tiny block on the estate in St. Helena and brought up in 80% new oak, the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Mary's Block offers a brilliant array of green citrus, white flowers, honeysuckle, fig blossom, and a distinct salty minerality. Not showing a hint of its oak élevage, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a brilliant texture, and will stand up to just about any top Bordeaux Blanc out there.

The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Mary's Block, from the Spottswoode estate in St. Helena, shows terrific brightness and focus. Lemon peel, sage, mint, tomato leaf and orchard fruit give the 2018 tons of nuance and character. The 80% new oak is not at all obvious. This chiseled estate Sauvignon Blanc has so much to offer.

About the producer

Spottswoode
Spottswoode

Spottswoode is one of those rare Napa estates whose reputation rests less on volume or spectacle than on persistent exactitude. Set on the western edge of St Helena, where the Mayacamas rise and afternoon breezes temper the valley’s warmth, the vineyard occupies a favoured pocket of the appellation.
