Score 89/100 · Drink 2003-2008, Robert Parker, Dec 2003

The 2001 Pinot Noir 7 Mules is a delicious, up-front, fruity effort displaying plenty of cranberry, strawberry, and cherry fruit characteristics along with subtle oak, earth, and spice. No wimpy wine at 15.3% alcohol, it comes across as an elegant, Cote de Beaune-like Pinot. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years. Tel. (707) 525-0570; Fax (707) 525-0570

(15.3% alcohol) Deep but less ruby color. Redder aromas of strawberry, cinnamon, cracked pepper and earth. Dense and meaty, with very sweet red berry flavors. Finishes supple and long, with plenty of ripe tannins and substantial structure. Seemed to close up in the glass.

Martinelli

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
