Score 89-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2006

Saturated medium red. Tangy, musky aromas of small wild berries and game are quite compelling. Full, ripe and broad on the palate, but without quite the complexity or intensity promised by the nose. A rather solid style of 2004, finishing with big tannins. Seems a bit unforthcoming today; usually I find Clos Saint-Denis more difficult to taste from barrel but not here.
