The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Janzen Cloudy's Vineyard is one of the bolder wines in the range. A racy Cabernet, the 2009 literally bursts with fruit, dark red cherries, flowers and mint, all supported by huge, imposing tannins. There is some promise in the glass, but, frankly, I am not sure the tannins will ever settle down and integrate. If they do, the 2009 may merit a higher rating in the future.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Janzen Cloudy’s Vineyard is one of the bolder wines in the range. A racy Cabernet, the 2009 literally bursts with fruit, dark red cherries, flowers and mint, all supported by huge, imposing tannins. There is some promise in the glass, but, frankly, I am not sure the tannins will ever settle down and integrate. If they do, the 2009 may merit a higher rating in the future. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. Kirk Venge makes the Bacio Divino wines for proprietor Claus Janzen. In addition to these wines, I also tasted the 2010 To Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon, the only wine that showed awkwardly. The bottled wines mostly came in within my projected ratings from barrel. The Bacio Divino/Janzen Cabernets are made in an overt style that makes them approachable fairly young, although site specificity as at times blurred. Tel. (707) 942-8101
