Score 98/100 · Drink 2019-2050, Robert Parker, Dec 2016

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon The Core is a tiny cuvée of 130 cases put together by the four Buoncristiani brothers. It has an impenetrable blue/black color, a stunning nose of flowers, blackcurrants, blackberry, graphite and spice. This is exceptionally rich, full-bodied and world-class – a magnificent wine that one day might justify a three-digit score. It is absolutely spectacular, built like a skyscraper with great purity and complexity. Give it another 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 30+ years.

Score 93/100 · Drink 2018-2034, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2016

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon The Core is laced with inky blue/purplish fruit, dark cherry jam, lavender, sage and mocha. Ripe, unctuous and racy, the 2014 will appeal most to readers who enjoy full-throttle, opulent wines. There is certainly no shortage of personality here.
