Score 88/100 · Drink 2005-2008, Robert Parker, Dec 2005

The non-malolactic, light straw-colored 2003 Chardonnay Whitney’s Vineyard offers up scents of citrus oil, orange rind, and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, with crisp acidity and a straightforward finish, it should drink well for 2-3 years. Fred Fisher and his daughter/winemaker, Whitney, continue to fine tune their wines. They have had to replant several of their Napa vineyards as well as parcels at their beautiful mountainside estate on the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas Mountains. The Fishers indicated that they will soon stop purchasing fruit and produce only estate bottled wines. Tel. (707) 539-7511; Fax (707) 539-3601

Bright yellow color. Aromas of ginger, pineapple, mandarin orange and sweet oak. Rich but dry, with firm acidity, a strong impression of stony minerality and a note of butterscotch. Finishes persistent if a bit dry-edged.
