Williams Selyem's 2011 Peay Vineyard is another wine that impresses for its depth. The flavors are dark and pungent, as wines from this site often are. Dark cherries, olives, sage, rosemary and tobacco all meld together in a deep, savory Pinot with slightly wild overtones. There is plenty going on in the glass here.

Dark ruby. Pungent aromas of black raspberry, cherry pit and sassafras, with an exotic touch of Indian spices building with air. Broad and fleshy on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering taut dark fruit flavors that gain sweetness with air. Shows impressive clarity and energy on the clinging finish, which features fine-grained tannins and a sweet touch of cola.
