Score 92/100 · Drink 2011-2020, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2008

The 2006 Pinot Noir Eileen Vineyard is medium/dark ruby with aromas of pain grille, damp earth, black cherry, and black raspberry. It is richer and denser than the preceding wines with enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years. This savory effort will be at its best from 2011-2020. Continuity is the custom at Cristom Vineyards where the founder Paul Gerrie remains at the helm and the original winemaker, Steve Doerner still fashions world-class Pinot Noirs. Tel. Light, bright red. Sexy red berry, baking spice and floral aromas are complemented by cinnamon, mace and mocha. Red berry flavors are light in body, silky and well focused, with no bitter or edgy qualities. The clean finish features slow-building minerality. I like the understated character of this wine.
