Good direction and freshness. Real structure. Very drying tannins on the end. Needs quite a bit of time! (JR)

Healthy medium red. Musky aromas of black cherry, smoke, mocha and sweet oak. A tightly coiled wine of moderate flesh, this village bottling offers nicely delineated flavors of dark berries, licorice, bitter chocolate and earth complicated by a saline minerality that no doubt comes from the higher-altitude parcels that go into the blend. This very successful village wine should maintain its energy.

Some chestnut notes on the nose. Rather charming fruit on the palate. Rich! For 2014 anyway. Lots of structure too. Well done. GV (JR)

(30% new oak; from five climats ranging from the foot of the hillside to high on the slope): Healthy deep red. Lovely precision to the aromas of black raspberry, minerals, licorice and wild herbs. A wine of moderate flesh, but the juicy flavors of dark berries and spices convey a satisfying combination of density and penetration. Very firm, flavorful, honest village wine with noteworthy length and a light touch. And, as in past years, a very successful blend of disparate sites.
