A barrel selection of the estate's best parcels, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve delivers notes of caramel, black cherries and cassis, all underscored by cedary accents. It's full-bodied and plush, tannic but ripe and velvety, with a long, warm finish.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a more backward, closed wine that will benefit from bottle age. Revealing a dense purple color as well as impressive notes of blackcurrants, spicy oak, cedarwood, and dried herbs, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a round, expansive mouthfeel, lots of chalky tannins, and a great finish. Give bottles 3-5 years in the cellar, and it should evolve gracefully for 15 -20 years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a potent, tannic wine. Today, it is especially reticent. It will be interesting to see if the formidable tannins soften with time. A bit of coaxing releases a whole range of inky dark red fruit, scorched earth, chocolate and savory notes. This is an especially potent, monolithic style, even for Jericho Canyon.
