Youthful purple. Expressive, oak-spiced cherry, blackcurrant and rose pastille aromas are complemented by vanilla and pipe tobacco nuances. Sweet, seamless and penetrating on the palate, offering intense, spice-laced dark berry, bitter cherry and floral flavors and a repeating vanilla note. Shows excellent focus and alluring sweetness on the long, juicy finish, which features repeating florality and subtle, slow-building tannins. (raised in new French oak barrels for 22 months)

The 2017 Mayote is a blend of 51% Syrah, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot aged 22 months in 100% new French oak. Deep ruby-purple colored, it's scented of licorice, rooibos tea leaves, beef drippings, lilac, Indian spices, vanilla and milk chocolate with a core of cassis, blackberry and marionberry pie and an undercurrent of ash, iron and graphite. Medium to full-bodied, it's very firmly structured and slow to unfurl in the mouth, with ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and layered. Give this another 3-5 years in bottle.

A blend of 51% Syrah, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Mayote boasts a deep purple color as well as full-bodied, voluptuously styled aromas and flavors of smoked game, ground pepper, scorched earth, and blackberries. It’s beautifully balanced and incredibly satisfying.
