Medium red. Pungent aromas of raspberry, blood orange, spices and flowers; more urgent than the Malconsorts. Sweet, fat and dense but with an airy lightness and a peppery/floral/spicy complexity that no doubt results from vinification with the stems. Surprisingly fine-grained and smooth on the back end, with lovely lift and sneaky persistence. I like this.

Good medium red. Sappy aromas of candied cherry and raspberry, lifted by a floral topnote; at once tangy and liqueur-like. Sweet and dense but not at all heavy, with highly concentrated, creamy, superripe red fruit flavors enlivened by a peppery nuance (from vinification with the stems?). Very broad wine, finishing with a fine dusting of tannins. This will merit a score at the top of my range if it develops a bit more length in its final weeks in barrel.
