Score 90/100 · Drink 2009-2017, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2009

The 2007 Pinot Noir Abbott Claim Vineyard is deep crimson-colored with a fragrant perfume of smoke, spice box, cherry, and raspberry. Medium-bodied and silky on the palate, it displays a solid core of savory red fruit, moderate ripe tannin, lively acidity, and a medium-long, pure finish. Drink it through 2017. Ken Wright describes 2007 as -?a really difficult year. It challenged me to be really good at farming and to be patient?Luckily it was cool and the fruit remained intact.- All things considered, it appears that Wright performed optimally in this challenging vintage with what nature provided. Deep red. Pungent aromas of cherry, dark berries and smoky minerals. A rather brooding style, offering chewy cherry skin and blackcurrant flavors and a late note of cracked pepper. Turned fresher and more energetic with air, finishing with very good cut and cling.
