Simultaneously pretty and savoury aromatics, followed by a pristine and persistent palate, Sandlands offers a uniquely clean fruit Trousseau. The wine shows notes of rose water paired with mouthwatering acidity, and a mix of savoury, sea salt, and cracked pepper accents. 100% whole cluster the 2012 Trousseau carries persistent while non-aggressive tannins. As such, it has the structure to age, though as this is a new project its expected flavour development remains unclear. Lovely. (ECB)

Sweet raspberries, strawberries, mint, rosewater, and cinnamon lift from the glass in the 2012 Trousseau Noir. The aromatics are quite lifted, but the fruit is deep, rich and beautifully resonant. The Trousseau Noir emerges from a site in Bohan Road on the far edge of the Sonoma Coast. There is plenty Bohan tannin, structure and perfume here, some of that also coming from the beautifully integrated whole clusters.
