Good full red. Pungent, high-pitched aromas of red berries, blood orange, spices and white pepper, along with an exhilarating citrussy element. Dense, sappy and quite dry, with red berry, cherry and spice flavors complicated by a hint of exotic flowers. This highly perfumed, tactile pinot noir needs a year or so in bottle to absorb its firm edge of acidity.

One of the darker wines in the range, the 2012 Pinot Noir Pearlessence Vineyard is laced with dark cherries, plums, cloves, menthol, spices and new leather. A layered, voluptuous wine, the 2012 stands out for its open, resonant personality. This site is planted with Martini clone Pinot, which often yields exotic, rich wines.
The 2012 Pinot Noir Pearlessence, which comes from an incredibly cold, windy site, reveals notes of bouquet garni, roasted meats, cloves, red and black cherries and loamy soil. Medium-bodied, richly fruity, alluring and texturally interesting, it can be enjoyed over the next 4-5 years. This is the personal project of Ehren Jordan, who was the long-time apprentice at Turley Cellars. These are all elegant, cool climate, finesse-styled wines that were obviously influenced by European rather than New World models. Jordan owns estate vineyards in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA and purchased fruit from some of the top growers in that region. Tel. (707) 963-0530
