Red and dark fruit integrated with smudged spice throughout. Savoury and saline notes persist through the palate here. Nice clarity, tension, and mouthwatering length with persistent tannin. About 10% stem inclusion accents the wine with subtlety, giving it a bit more spice, and depth. Nicely executed. (ECB)

The 2013 Pinot Noir Pearlessence Vineyard comes across as a bit light in this vintage. Rose petal, mint, hard candy, crushed flowers and dried cherries all lift from the glass in a delicate, lithe Pinot that appears best suited to near-term drinking, as the flavors are forward. This cool site planted with the Martini clone always yields wines with very strong, pronounced signatures but in 2013 an element of freshness and mid-palate depth appears to be lacking.
