Score 89/100 · Drink 2015-2030, Robert Parker, Jun 2013

From the historic George III Vineyard, first planted by Thomas Rutherford in the late 1800s and now owned by the Beckstoffer family, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon from Provenance is a dark ruby/purple-colored wine offering notes of graphite, plums, dusty, loamy soil and cassis. Rich and full with good freshness, medium to full body, wonderful density and terrific fruit, this beauty is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Provenance. It would benefit from slightly more complexity, but the fruit is of high quality and this medium to full-bodied wine offers interesting notes of earth and spice box. It should hit full maturity in 2-3 years and keep for 15+ years thereafter. Tel. (707) 299-2692
