Medium red. Perfumed aromas of flowers, pepper and licorice. Broad and spicy but youthfully unforthcoming, even a bit tight. The black cherry and menthol flavors show a restrained sweetness. Difficult to taste today and in need of several years of bottle aging.

Powerful aromas of sweet red cherries and flowers burst from the 2002 Volnay Vendanges Selectionees. Medium-bodied, focused, and deep, this wine offers copious quantities of resiny red fruits in its vibrant character. It has outstanding depth, concentration, and a juicy, pure, vibrant personality. Projected maturity: 2006-2012. A Becky Wasserman Selection / Le Serbet; French Fax: 011-33-3-80-24-29-70, various American importers

Deep red. Pure, reticent aromas of blueberry and blackberry. Highly aromatic in the mouth but showing less flesh today than the basic village cuvee This is juicier and more minerally, with more obvious spine. Withdrawn and a bit dry at this stage, but the tannins are sweet.
