Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2024, Robert Parker, Apr 2016

From their own vineyard, the 2014 Pinot Noir Moses-Hall Vineyard sees about 10% whole-cluster and 60% new French oak and, like the other wines, is bottled without fining or filtration. It is a relatively limited cuvée of 598 cases. All of this comes from well-drained, gravelly soils planted with an assortment of Dijon clones 777, 828 and 115, as well as heritage California clones such as Swan and Calera. This wine offers plenty of gravelly minerality and a smoky, forest floor nose reminiscent of a Morey-St.-Denis from Burgundy. With delicious plum, pomegranate, black raspberry and black cherry fruit, it is rich, broad, medium to full-bodied and complex already. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
