Score 91/100 · Drink 2007-2011, Robert Parker, Dec 2007

From a cool Russian River site not far from the Sonoma Coast, the 2005 Chardonnay Lorenzo cuts a fleshier, richer feel on the palate, and is neither as up-front nor charming as the Overlook. Possessing more depth, weight, and richness as well as plenty of orange and lemon blossom notes intermixed with crushed rocks, white currants, and subtle oak, and a moderately long finish suggest this impressive white is best drunk over the next 2-4 years. Bright gold. Powerful orange, floral honey and gingerbread aromas lifted by a mineral quality. Juicy and focused, with bright citrus and orchard fruit flavors deepened by a gentle toasty note. Firms up on the finish, which features suave baking spices and serious persistence.
