Score 93/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

The 2021 Micho is a blend of 51% Merlot and 49% Cabernet Sauvignon matured for 21 months in 100% new French oak. The nose is dark and minerally with graphite-laced blackcurrants and cherries, plus thyme, tobacco and floral hints. The palate is light on its feet, balancing a concentrated core of detailed fruit, supple tannins and bright acidity, and it has a long, violet-tinged finish. It really opens up with time in the glass and will take a few years in bottle to fully unfold.

Dark chocolate, blood orange, sage and dried blueberries combine to create the 2021 Micho, which smolders from the glass. It is creamy in texture yet lifted in feel, with crisp wild berry fruits and a cascade of autumnal spices. Sour citrus and tart blackberry provide a pleasantly bitter tinge through the finish, and the 2021 tapers off long and structured for the cellar. This is a blend of 54% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc.
