Leroy's 2002 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is beginning to drink beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, spices, rose petal and vine smoke, followed by a full-bodied, dense and layered palate that's suave and voluminous, with incredible concentration, supple tannins and lively acids.

Deep red-ruby. Quintessential Clos de la Roche aromas of small wild red fruits, minerals, gunflint, mocha, smoke and spices. Dense, sappy and gripping, with extremely primary fruit character and deep spiciness; shows a level of vibrancy rare for the vintage. A wine of great definition and freshness, with explosive finishing flavors. A great example of this grand cru.
