Score 17/20 · Drink 2023-2029, Jancis Robinson MW, Jul 2023

Roughly 10–12% of the juice removed through saignée. 6-day cold soak with 5% whole clusters for a total of 21 days on the skins. 193 cases made. Smells of bright cherry fruit. Juicy raspberry and pomegranate fruit flavours have a lovely zing due to excellent acidity. Orange-peel brightness lingers in the finish. Very pretty. (AY)

The 2019 Pinot Noir Mt. Carmel Vineyard is an attractive wine that shows the lighter characteristic of the year. Bright, racy red/purplish berry fruit, sweet floral notes and spice abound in this very pretty, fresh, gracious and silky wine.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Mount Carmel Vineyard is more floral and exotic, with a thrilling core of black raspberry and wild strawberry fruits supported by candied orange, violet, flowery incense, and assorted spices. These all carry to a vibrant, medium-bodied Pinot Noir with a classic, focused spine of acidity, a more rounded mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's another gorgeous wine. Drink bottles any time over the coming 10-12 years or so.
