Bright ruby. Expansive cherry and blackberry aromas show good power spicy complexity. Broad and fleshy in texture, offering plush dark berry and mocha flavors and a hint of vanilla that emerges on the back half. Finishes smooth and warm, with repeating spiciness and smooth tannins. Quite rich for the vintage; I'd have guessed that this was from 2012.

The medium garnet-colored 2011 Pinot Noir Saralee’s Vineyard displays an attractive earthy, forest floor-scented nose along with plum and black cherry fruit. Tasted blind, it could clearly be mistaken for a Burgundy Cote de Nuits. With attractive flavors, good ripeness, sweet fruit, excellent precision and finesse, and a complex, intriguing style, this beauty can be enjoyed over the next 4-5 years. By the way, all these Pinot Noirs are made from their own clonal material known as the Swan clone. www.swanwinery.com
