Brilliant ruby-red. Vibrant aromas of fresh dark berries, cherry cola, potpourri and smoky minerals carry a hint of allspice in the background. Juicy, palate-staining blackberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors show impressive depth; a core of minerality provides spine. Spreads out slowly on a very long, floral-tinged finish that's given shape by smooth, harmonious tannins.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Mark Bradford Vineyards comes from a vineyard planted in 1992, usually the last to be picked, and is matured in 74% new French oak for 16 months. It has a generous bouquet with vibrant red cherry, raspberry and a touch of hickory. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannin on the entry, a mixture of red and black fruit, a little saline and fleshier than the Jerusalem Hill with a twist of sour cherry on the finish. Succulent and flavorsome, enjoy this Pinot Noir over the next decade.
