Inexpressive nose hints at minerals, lemon and clove. Then ripe and full in the mouth but without the vibrancy of the Tete de Murgers. A bit disjointed at this phase, with some vanillin oak showing today. Will this eventually show the fine-grained texture it displayed from barrel?

("from the low part of the upper part of Charmes," says Javillier) Reduced nose suggests lemon cream. Fat, sweet and oily on the palate, with a chewy texture and an impressively penetrating character. Quite complex and long. Promises to be the most refined vintage yet for this cuvee
