AP number 23 20. Restrained nose with marked acidity. Really crystalline and precise with magically broad ripe fruit on the palate with a hint of golden syrup and cabbage. Nice! Real lift, and ethereal in terms of build. Delicate and precise. Just the sort of wine that could only come from here. Super-refreshing. (JR)

The 2019 Kupp Spätlese Fass 23 (AP #23) is pure, bright, precise and floral on the spring-like nose. On the palate, this is a gorgeously finessed, elegant and even filigreed structured Spätlese with delicate, very fine and salty acidity. This is a fantastic Riesling from the Ayler Kupp. The 2019 Kupp Spätlese Fass 23 (AP #231) is clear and intense on the elegant and flinty nose. On the palate, this is a noble, very finessed and charming Spätlese with stimulating grip and lingering salinity. This is as sweet and piquant and possibly the finer of the Spätlese twins? Unfortunately, I didn't taste them side yet. Tasted in April 2020 and again some weeks later.
