The 2022 Grenache Lignee de Tablas Hook Vineyard is understated. A cascade of dusty rose, mint and violet pastille accentuates crushed blackberries notes. On the palate, it opens with a pretty inner sweetness and silky textures contrasted by juicy acidity, as air of lavender and spice form toward the close. It fades with primary notes, taking on a more savory personality while blue-toned inner florals and crisp mineral tones linger on. Bravo. This refined Grenache will win a lot of hearts.

From the Creston District of Paso Robles, the 2022 Lignée de Tablas Windfall Farms Grenache Blanc is a new wine from Tablas Creek. It opens with tones of matchstick, almonds and beeswax over a core of apple fruit. The light-bodied palate is surprisingly concentrated, boasting vibrant orange and honey flavors. It has fireworks of fresh acidity, an alluring touch of textural grip and a long, mineral-driven finish. It will benefit from a year or two in bottle. 825 cases were made.
