The 2012 Belle Cousine is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. It shows good depth and plenty of textural richness, along with a bit more oak influence than is common here. Ripe red-toned fruit, spice, mocha and torrefaction fill out the layers. Even at ten years of age, the 2012 is an infant, but the oak is starting to give way to a more advanced set of aromas.
