Score 89/100 · Drink 2020-2028, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2018

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a powerful, intense entry-level offering from Canard. There is a good bit of potential here, even if the Estate feels a bit constricted at this stage. If the mid-palate fills out a bit more, the Estate could turn out to be quite good. Hints of blackberry jam, lavender and spice start to become expressive with time in the glass.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate gives up bags of meaty, savory and earthy characters on the nose with a cassis and baked plums core. Medium to full-bodied, taut and muscular, it has a chewy texture and dried herbs-laced finish.
