From a vineyard in the Walla Walla AVA, the 2014 Syrah Forgotten Hills (100% Syrah) offers a fresh, perfumed and classic style from this estate. Spring flowers, black and blue fruits, lots of pepper and sappy herbs notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, elegant, seamless Syrah that has notable complexity, character and depth.

(13.9% alcohol): Bright red with ruby tones. Retrained peppery nose shows a slightly herbal quality. Savory and smooth but with only modest sweetness for this very warm year. Displays intriguing meaty and earthy qualities but I wanted more sweetness of fruit. A bit in the style of the 2013 but finishes slightly dry and clenched. Will this expand in bottle?
