One sexy, opulent, hedonistic dream of a wine, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon JCB #10 offers a massive core of black and blue fruits that give way to more liquid violet, spice, and a Graves-like scorched earth character. Made to showcase the ripe, fruit-driven style of Napa Valley, it's full-bodied, has a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a blockbuster finish. I love it today, yet it will probably take 7-8 years to shed its considerable baby fat and have at least two decades of prime drinking. It's a killer wine.

Mainly St. Helena fruit, with a bit from Oakville blended in, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon No. 10 is based on clone 7, one of the valley's top performers. It's a bit more concentrated and muscular than many of the other JCB wines, its cassis and vanilla notes picking up appealing hints of licorice. Full-bodied with a creamy texture, the tannins become more perceptible on the long finish.
