Score 93/100 · Drink 2011-2021, Jeb Dunnuck, Nov 2010

The 2006 Bonaccorsi Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard is co-fermented with 4% Viognier and possesses a deep, inky color as well as dense, almost thick aromas of black fruits, charcoal, blood, rosemary, and peppered beef. These lead to a medium to full bodied wine that’s concentrated, structured, and shows fantastic length on the finish. Firm and focused, this should evolve for 2 to 4 years and drink well for a decade or longer.

Inky ruby. Brooding aromas of cherry skin, licorice and dark chocolate. Slow to unwind, eventually offering dense dark fruit preserve and bitter chocolate flavors, with supple tannins adding support. Very rich but not showing much energy today; will a couple of years of bottle age fix this wine's sullen mood?
