A blend of 42% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, and 29% Syrah, the 2009 McPrice Myers Altas Vinas Alta Mesa Vineyard displays a ripe, rich profile with baked cherry, plum, earth, meat, and absurd levels of crushed rock and earthy minerality that shows more on the palate than the nose. Full-bodied and firm and structured on the palate, with notable ripe tannin, integrated acidity, and a classically styled finish, this needs a handful of years in the cellar to fully flesh out, and should have upwards of 10-12 years of longevity.
