Fuller and more complete than their village Meursault, with the extra chew of premier cru and much better balance too. The acidity is on the bitter side, this is very much a wine built on tension. Minimal oak influence, although there is clearly leesy weight adding flesh. (RH)

Scents of pear, clear honey, warm pastry and almond paste introduce the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and textural wine that's deep and satiny, with lively acids underpinning its generous core of succulent fruit. For readers that know the vineyard, the domaine's parcel is located in between those belonging to Latour-Giraud and Rémy Jobard, just below Meursault Perrières.
