Aged 16 months in mostly neutral oak (31% was new), the 2016 Chardonnay Fogstone Vineyard is terrific. Caramelized citrus, ripe pineapple, brioche and spicy notes all emerge from the glass. From a cooler climate site and aged 16 months in 31% new French oak, it's beautifully textured, has ample richness, and vibrant acidity. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years.

(31% new French oak) Vivid yellow. Ripe orchard and pit fruit scents show very good clarity and pick up suggestions of vanilla, buttered-toast and lemon pith with air. Silky, seamless and brood in the mouth, offering intense nectarine and poached pear flavors that slowly tighten up on the back half. Shows surprising energy for its heft and finishes very long and smooth, with a hint of smokiness and strong persistence.
