The 2013 Pinot Noir Winery Block comes from biodynamically farmed vines, a vineyard that demands intensive labor during the season and is 100% whole cluster fruit. It tends to produce just four to six clusters per vine. It has a very pure and focused bouquet with blackberry, cranberry and wild mint aromas that become more like wild fennel with time in the glass. I like the "wildness" here (maybe reminiscent of Antica Terra?). The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, crisp and tensile with very fine density. It might lack a little persistence on the finish, but up to that point there is very satisfying freshness and good backbone, perhaps the 2013 from Bergstrom with the most ageing potential? This is an impressive Pinot Noir and probably the finest from Bergstrom in 2013.

Deep, bright red. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, cherry pit, peppery spices and fresh flowers, with a zesty mineral quality building in the glass. Taut, penetrating and focused on the palate, with vibrant red berry and bitter cherry flavors putting on weight with air. Smoke and white pepper notes appear on the clinging finish, whish features gentle tannins and an echo of bitter cherry.
