Juicy, mouth-watering acidity opens the palate carrying a red-cherry and cherry-bark flavour touched by a lightly minty accent. Glistening magenta. Vibrant raspberry, boysenberry and baking spice aromas are complemented by hints of vanilla and sassafras. Palate-staining red and blue fruit flavors show impressive depth as well as energy, thanks to a core of juicy acidity. Finishes very long and silky, with resonating blue fruit character and smooth, well-judged tannins that make a late appearance.
From sandy-textured, weathered basalt, the medium ruby-purple colored 2017 Pinot Noir Worden Hill opens with some reductive notes of tar, struck flint and smoke over a core of tangerine, bright red cherries and berries, underbrush and clove with more aromatic nuances coming through with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied and silky with intense, nuanced fruits, a ripe frame and seamless freshness, finishing long. Give this a long decant or another couple of years in bottle. 485 cases were made.
