The 2015 Pinot Gris does not have much to say on the nose. The palate is balanced with a pleasing roundness, and lower in acidity than I expected. A touch of white pepper and aniseed emerges towards the fluffy"finish. Drink over the next couple of years.

Combination of gravelly clay-loam and alluvial soils with high proportion of greywacke river stones. Mainly fermented with ambient yeast in old oak barriques before spending six months on the lees with minimal stirring. RS 8 g/l, TA 5.5 g/l. Pale greenish straw. Rather muted nose. Full bodied and only just lively enough to cope with the sweetness but it's a valid style for relatively early drinking. Reminds me a little more of good Friuli than Alsace. (JR)

The 2015 Pinot Gris offers notes of spiced apples, ripe pears and anise with a waft of coriander seeds. Medium-bodied and off-dry in style, it has plenty of uncomplicated spicy flavor on offer with good length.
